You know the childhood story of the little train that believed it could make it up a big hill and he would say…I think I CAN…I think I CAN…I think I CAN.
Throughout history, human beings have been teaching their kids positive affirmations through stories and in everyday language without really giving it much thought or attention.
There’s also a flip side to that and they could be sending out negative affirmations and subconsciously instilling limiting beliefs.
Sometimes the positive affirmations, words of encouragement, positive thinking or the negative are installed into our neural pathways, like software in a computer, and sometimes they aren’t
Why is that?
Have you ever heard the saying “Where focus goes, energy flows”?
Thoughts, words, emotions, etc that we decide to focus on draw energy from our daily lives.
So the more we hear, say, think, and do certain things they will have a…
…positive or negative outcome attached to them influenced by our beliefs, words, thoughts, actions, etc.
The beauty is…you get to choose.
So why not choose positive, encouraging words and thoughts to illuminate your day rather than the other?
Wouldn’t you rather have a positive outlook on your day, feel encouraged, empowered, and have positive energy flowing into your life?
That’s why so many successful people throughout history and even more now today have entrusted positive affirmations to return great results in their life and business.
Interview upon interview….success story upon success story will reveal they’ve used positive thinking and positive affirmations to get them where they are today. Since you’re here reading this blog post, you most likely deep down already know the answer to…
Do positive affirmations work?
If by some chance you’re still on the fence, I challenge you to just give it a try…
Look at it as a little experiment that can drastically enhance your life…every aspect of it.
Work, business, relationships, money, emotions, etc.
I thought about recommending that you go through a full week of thinking negatively, then a full week of thinking positively.
So when you’re in your negative week you would think everything is happening TO you and NOT FOR you, you can’t get ahead, you can’t win for losing, have bad posture, frown all the time throughout the week, slouch your shoulders…you get the point.
…and then it crossed my mind.
Having that kind of thinking for that long with a focused negative intention could really set some bad habits and could overall cause quite the opposite of what I wish for you, which is…
I want to encourage you to have whatever you desire in life, live life on your terms, and if I have you moping around all super negative for a week…it could really put you in a rut, so I want you to just do this quick experiment instead…
It will only take a moment. 3 minutes tops while you continue to read this blog post.
Sound fair enough? Ok, good.
Now…just be sad. You know the feeling, the emotion of being sad, angry, upset, everyone is against you, and so on.
Slouch your shoulders like you are depressed, have a frown on your face…
Really be aware of how you feel, your thoughts, your emotions, the scenery around you. ( everything seems so dull)
Say to yourself out loud…
I’m not good enough.
I don’t think my dreams will come true.
I close myself off to people around me and the world.
I am not loved.
I don’t respect myself.
I can’t succeed at anything.
Do you like those feelings and emotions that you are experiencing?
Would you enjoy feeling like this every day for the rest of your life? Absolutely NOT!
Then why do we as human beings think those thoughts or feel those emotions? It’s because of the negative thinking you allow yourself to think or the negative people around you that gets filtered into your subconscious.
At the end of the day…like attracts like. ( and negative attracts negative)
Let’s reverse those feelings and emotions.
Imagine being the reason someone smiles today. All from the beautiful smile you gave them.
Yes, just smile…right now. Smile a BIG cheesy, teeth showin’, cheek raisin’ smile.
Just by smiling you feel all sorts of positive vibes.
Your physiology changes.
Try it again. Frown and be all down, then smile all happy like.
Feel it? Ok. Awesome!
So we can control our physiology by the thoughts and emotions we choose to have at the very moment and throughout out lives.
Now say, think, and feel…
I am improving every single day.
I am good enough in every single way in everything I do.
Achieving my Dreams gives me so much joy and has been a wonderful journey.
I am open and receptive. Abundance flows to from expected and unexpected sources.
I am loved and I project love to every human being I cross paths with.
I am a success in all that I do.
I respect myself. I am AWESOME! :)
I am truly grateful for this gift called Life.

The great thing is…you can create you own positive affirmations easily. All you need to do is state the positive emotion, feeling, thought, action, result…that you want to focus on for that day or moment.
You can use positive affirmations for success, relationships, family, etc.
Some use positive affirmations for anxiety and other personal emotions/feelings.
Do positive affirmations work? ABSOLUTELY!
You have the power to shape your reality however you choose. This quick experiment has revealed just that…

Like in “The Secret of the Ages” by Robert Collier which was originally published in 1925 with the title “The Book of Life”.
Even before “The Secret of the Ages” there were great minds like Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Napoleon Hill, Andrew Carnegie, Dale Carnegie, Earl Nightingale, and other successful-positive thinking individuals throughout history who believed and implemented positive affirmations and the Law of Attraction.
Do you want positive or negative results?
A positive input always leads to a positive output.
There a many other things that can impact your results, success, happiness…
…things like your intentions, beliefs, habits, awareness, etc.
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”
Positive affirmations are a great way to start shaping your reality how you want it.
As Louise L. Hay says in Heart Thoughts…
